Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: C

Explanation

The correct answer is option 3 i.e Rs.6,856

Understanding Application
We know that total expenditure is the value of one unit times the price of that unit.

Cost of A = 15 × 80

⇒ Rs. 1200

Cost of B = 20 × 60

⇒ Rs. 1200

Cost of C = 12 × 40

⇒ Rs. 480

Cost of D = 40 × 85

⇒ Rs. 3400

Cost of E = 8 × 72

⇒ Rs. 576

Total expenditure = 576 + 3400 + 480 + 1200 + 1200

⇒ Rs. 6856
