The difference between the selling price of some apples, if sold for ₹15 per apple instead of ₹11 per apple, is ₹800. If the cost price of all the apples is ₹1,800, find the selling price of 10 apples if the profit earned is 10%.

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: B

Explanation

The correct answer is Option 2 i.e. ₹99.

Let the number of apples = x

⇒ 15x – 11x = 800

⇒ 4x = 800

⇒ x = 200

CP of 1 apple = 18002001800 \over200 = 9

SP at 10% profit = 9 + 0.9 = 9.9

SP of 10 apples = 10 × 9.9 = ₹99
