SSC GD Const (English) - 21 Feb 2024 Shift 4 • Quantitative Aptitude • Q57

The difference between cost price and selling price is Rs. 132. If profit percentage is 20 percent, then what is the selling price?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: C

Explanation

The correct answer is Option 3 i.e. Rs. 792.

Let the CP be x

Since there is a profit of 20%,

The selling price (SP) = x + 0.2x = 1.2x

The difference between the selling price and the cost price is Rs. 132

⇒ 1.2x - x = 132

⇒ 0.2x = 132

⇒ x = 132/0.2

⇒ x = 660

SP = 1.2 × 660 = 792

Therefore, the selling price is Rs. 792
