The cost of tilting the floor of a rectangular room is Rs. 9100 at Rs. 65 per m2. The ratio of the length and breadth of the floor is 7 : 5. The perimeter (in m) of the floor of the room is:

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: C

Explanation

The correct answer is option 3 i.e. 48

Total cost = 9100

Rate of tilting the floor = 65/m2.

Area of the floor = 9100/65 = 140m2.

Let the length and breadth if the floor be 7x and 5x

⇒ 7x × 5x = 140

⇒ 35x2 = 140

⇒ x = 2.

Perimeter of the floor = 2(l + b) = 24x = 24 × 2 = 48m.
