SSC Selection Post 2019 PYQ — Question 46

The correct answer is option 1 i.e. Speaker.

The Committees of the Lok Sabha work under the overall guidance of the Speaker of the Lok Sabha. The Speaker plays a key role in the constitution, functioning, and supervision of these parliamentary committees. They appoint chairpersons of most committees and ensure their meetings and reports are conducted as per parliamentary procedures. These committees, such as the Public Accounts Committee and Estimates Committee, aid in detailed examination of legislative matters, finances, and administration. The Speaker’s guidance ensures that committee work remains non-partisan, effective, and aligned with democratic parliamentary norms.
