Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: C

Explanation

The correct answer is option 3 i.e. 21 years

The captain of a cricket team of 11 members is 28 years old and the wicket keeper is 4 years older than him = 28 + 4 = 32

the average age of the remaining players is two years less than the average age of the whole team

⇒ Let the sum of ages of 9 players of the team be x

⇒ (x/9) + 2 = (x + 28 + 32)/11

⇒ (x + 18) / 9 = (x + 60) / 11

⇒ 11x + 198 = 9x + 540

⇒ 2x = 342

x = 171

Average age of team = (x + 60) / 11

231/11 = 21 years
