The base radius of a circular cylinder is 10.5 cm. If the area of its curved surface is 792 cm2 , then what is the volume of the cylinder?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: D

Explanation

The correct answer is option 4 i.e. 4158 cm3.

The base radius of the circular cylinder (R) = 10.5 cm

Let the height of the cylinder be H cm.

The area of curved surface (2πRH) = 792 cm2

So, 2πRH = 792 cm2

⇒ 2 × (22/7) × 10.5 × H = 792

⇒ 66H = 792

⇒ H = 792/66 = 12 cm

Volume of cylinder = πR2H = (22/7) × 10.52 × 12 = 4158 cm3

Therefore, the volume of the cylinder is 4158 cm3.
