The average of P1 , P2 and P3 is 50. If the value of P1 is half of the average, then what is the average of P2 and P3?
Show answer & explanation
Correct answer: D
Explanation
The correct answer is option 4 i.e.62.5
The average of P1, P2, and P3 is 50.
P 1 + P2 + P3 = 50 × 3 = 150 ....... Eq.(i)
If the value of P1 is half of the average.
P1 = 50/2 =25 .....Eq.(ii)
Put Eq.(ii) in Eq .(i).
25 + P2 + P3 = 150
P2 + P3 = 150 - 25 = 125
Average of P2 and P3 = 125/2
= 62.5
