Understanding

Application

Given:

The average age of 15 persons = 32

And

The average age of 17 persons = 32 + 3 = 35

Sum of age of 15 persons = 32 × 15 = 480

Sum of age of 17 persons = 35 × 17 = 595

Sum of age of 2 new persons = 595 – 480 = 115

Difference of 2 new persons = 7

Age of youngest person = (115 – 7)/2 = 54
