The area of a triangle is 1470 cm2. If the base of this triangle is (3/5)th of the height corresponding to that base, then what will be the height of the triangle?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: B

Explanation

The correct answer is Option 2 i.e. 70 cm.

Area of triangle = 1/2 × b × h

here, b(base) = 3h/5, and h = height

⇒ 1470 = 1/2 × (3h/5) × h

⇒ 1470 = 1/2 × 3/5h2

⇒ h2 = (1470 × 5 × 2)/3

⇒ h2 = 4900

⇒ h = 70

Hence, the height of the triangle is 70 cm
