The area of a rectangular field is 396 m2, whose sides are in the ratio of 11 : 9. What is the perimeter of the rectangular field?

Explanation

The correct answer is Option 3 i.e. 80 m.

Let sides be 11x and 9x

Area = 11x × 9x = 99x2

99x2 = 396

⇒ x2 = 39699396 \over 99 = 4

⇒ x = 2

Sides = 22 m and 18 m

Perimeter = 2(22 + 18) = 2 × 40 = 80 m
