SSC Selection Post 2024 PYQ — Question 29

The correct answer is Option 2 i.e. Paris.

• The 2024 Olympic Games will be hosted by Paris.
• The 2024 Summer Olympics, officially titled the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad, took place in Paris, France, from July 26 to August 11, 2024. The event featured 32 sports for Olympic athletes and 22 sports for Paralympic participants.
• Paris became the second city after London to host the Olympic Games three times—having previously hosted in 1900 and 1924.
• A total of 35 official venues were used during the Games, with several located outside the Paris metropolitan area in cities such as Nice, Marseille, and Bordeaux.
• One of the major highlights of Paris 2024 was the debut of "Breaking"—the competitive form of breakdancing—as an official Olympic sport. This dynamic dance form, which originated in the United States during the 1970s, joined the Olympic roster for the first time.
• In addition to Breaking, surfing, skateboarding, and sport climbing were also included in the Paris Games. These three sports were introduced earlier at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 and returned due to their growing popularity and youth appeal.
