SSC CGL 2023 PYQ — Question 90

SSC CGL - 18 July 2023 - Shift 2 • Reasoning • Q90

Study the given pattern carefully and select the number that can replace the question mark (?) in it.

(7, 5, 10)

(2, 1, 5)

(16, 6, ?)

(NOTE: Operations should be performed on the whole numbers, without breaking down the numbers into its constituent digits. E.g. 13 -- Operations on 13 such as adding/subtracting/multiplying etc. to 13 can be performed. Breaking down 13 into 1 and 3 and then performing mathematical operations on 1 and 3 is not allowed)

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: B

Explanation

The correct answer is option 2 i.e. 50.

The logic used here is:

Third number = (First Number - Second Number) x 5

Given,

(7, 5, 10)

⇒ (7 - 5) x 5 = 2 x 5 = 10

(2, 1, 5)

⇒ (2 - 1) x 5 = 1 x 5 = 5

Similarly, Follows the same pattern

(16, 6, ?)

⇒ (16 - 6) x 5 = 10 x 5 = 50

Hence, the correct answer is 50.
