 Partners  Percentage of shares
 Jeevan  10%
 Kiran  15%
 Lokesh  8%
 Rasool  22%
 Meera  45%

The company has issued 10 lakh shares between its five partners. If Jeevan offers to sell 20,000 of his shares to Meera, how many shares will Meera have?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: D

Explanation

The correct answer is option 4 i.e. 4,70,000.

Total amount of shares = 1000000

The initial amount of shares that Meera has = (45/100) × 1000000 = 450000

Jeevan sold 20,000 of his shares to Meera.

New amount of shares that Meera has = 450000 + 20000 = 470000

Therefore, Meera has 4,70,000 shares of the company.
