Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: C

Explanation

The correct answer is Option 3 i.e. 23 1/2 years

Given that

Six years ago, the ratio of ages of A to B was 7: 5.

4 years from now, the ratio of their ages will be 11: 9.

According to the question

(11 - 7) units = 6 + 4 = 10 years

4 units = 10 years

1 unit = 2.5 years

Hence, the present age of A = 7 × 2.5 + 6 = 17.5 + 6 = 23.5 years = 23 1/2 years
