Sita sold a whiteboard marker set at 10% profit. On selling it for Rs.20 more, she would have earned a profit of 15%. What is the cost price of the whiteboard marker set?

Explanation

The correct answer is option 4 i.e. Rs.400.

Let the C.P of the marker be Rs. x 

S.P = 1.1x

Given that 

If she had sold the marker for Rs. 20 more, she would have earned a profit of 15%

⇒ 1.1x+20−xx\frac{1.1x +20 - x}{x} × 100 = 15

⇒ 5x = 2000

⇒ x = 400

Hence, the cost price of the whiteboard marker is Rs. 400.
