Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: D

Explanation

The correct answer is Option 4 i.e CDBA.

  • The best way to go about such questions is by finding an opening statement and pairs of sentences.
  • Sentence C basically introduces the main idea of the paragraph, i.e., How the cat plans to entice the mice.
  • Sentence C is followed by Sentence D which talks about how the cat plans to catch the mice.
  • Sentence B will be the third statement describing how the cat hopes that her idea to catch mice would work.
  • Sentence A will be a conclusive sentence because it concludes with mice saying “Many a bag have I seen in my day, but never one with a cat's head”

The correct paragraph is-

A cat, grown feeble with age and no longer able to hunt mice as she once did, thought to herself how she might entice them within reach of her paw. Thinking that she might pass herself off for a bag or for a dead cat at least, she suspended herself by the hind legs from a peg. She hoped that the mice would no longer be afraid to come near her. An old mouse, who was wise enough to keep his distance, whispered to a friend, “Many a bag have I seen in my day, but never one with a cat's head”.
