Understanding Application

Pattern:

(x, y, z)

y – x = a and 

z – y = 2a

(9, 15, 27)

15 – 9 = 6

And 

27 – 15 = 12 = 2 × 6

Similarly,

(12, 20, 36)

20 – 12 = 8

And 

36 – 20 = 16 = 2 × 8

Hence, (12, 20, 36) is the correct option.
