The correct answer is option 4 i.e. Sec²θ + Cos²θ = 1.

Put θ = 45°

1. Sec²θ - tan²θ = 1

⇒ Sec²45 - tan²45 = 1

⇒ (√2)² - 1 = 1

⇒ 1 = 1

L.H.S. = R.H.S.

2. Sin²θ + Cos²θ = 1

⇒ Sin²45 + Cos²45 = 1

⇒ (1/√2)² + (1/√2)² = 1

⇒ 1 = 1

L.H.S. = R.H.S

3. Cosec²θ - Cot²θ = 1

⇒ Cosec²45 - Cot²45 = 1

⇒ (√2)² - 1 = 1

⇒ 1 = 1

L.H.S. = R.H.S.

4. Sec²θ + Cos²θ = 1

⇒ Sec²45 + Cos²45 = 1

⇒ (√2)² + (1/√2)² = 1

⇒ 2 + 1/2 = 1

⇒ 5/2 = 1

L.H.S. ≠ R.H.S.

So, the fourth formula is wrong.
