Seema can do a work in 120 days, Anjali can do the same work in 144 days and Soniya can do the same work in 180 days. If they do that work together and they are paid Rs. 3300, then what is the share of Anjali?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: A

Explanation

The correct answer is option 1 i.e. Rs. 1100.

Seema's rate = 1 / 120 work per day

Anjali's rate = 1 / 144 work per day

Soniya's rate = 1 / 180 work per day

Total rate = 1 / 120 + 1 / 144 + 1 / 180

⇒ 1120=6720,1144=5720,1180=4720\frac{1}{120} = \frac{6}{720}, \quad \frac{1}{144} = \frac{5}{720}, \quad \frac{1}{180} = \frac{4}{720}

Total rate = 6720+5720+4720=15720=148\frac{6}{720} + \frac{5}{720} + \frac{4}{720} = \frac{15}{720} = \frac{1}{48}

Anjali’s contribution is = 1144÷148=48144=13\frac{1}{144} \div \frac{1}{48} = \frac{48}{144} = \frac{1}{3}

Anjali's share of the payment is (13)(\frac{1}{3}) of Rs. 3300

Anjali's share = (13)(\frac{1}{3})×  3300 = 1100

Therefore, Anjali's share of the payment is Rs. 1100.
