Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: D

Explanation

The correct answer is option 4 i.e.  3861633\frac{86}{163}  % gain.

Given that, SP at 25%  profit = ₹1260

SP at 10% loss = ₹1440

Total SP = 1260 + 1440 = 2700

CP = SP ×100(100+P)\times { 100 \over (100 +P)}

CP = SP ×100(100−L)\times { 100 \over (100 - L)}

According to the given question,

CP at 25% profit =  1260 ×100(100+25)\times { 100 \over (100 + 25)}

⇒ 1260 ×100125\times { 100 \over 125} = 1008

CP at 10% loss = 1440 ×10090\times { 100 \over 90}

⇒ 1600

Total CP = 1600 + 1008

⇒ 2608

Now, SP > CP, Profit = SP - CP

⇒ 2700 - 2608 = 92

Profit percentage = 922608×100{92 \over 2608} \times 100 = 3861633\frac{86}{163} %

Hence the required answer is 3861633\frac{86}{163} %.
