Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: A

Explanation

The correct answer is Option 1 i.e 75000.

Let the monthly salary of Rajan = 100x

Money spent on Rent = 10% of salary = 10x

Remaining money = 90x

Money spent on transport = 20% of 90x = 18x

Remaining money = 72x

Money spent on food = 40% of 72x = 28.8x

Remaining money = 43.2x

Money spent on various bills = 80% of 43.2 = 34.56x

Remaining money = 8.64%

Now this 8.64x = 5000 + 1480

⇒ 8.64x = 6480

⇒ x = 750

Total monthly salary = 750 × 100 = 75000
