Let the number = x

According to the question,

⇒ 16×12×38×x=20{{1\over6}\times{1\over2}\times{3\over8}\times x}={20}

⇒ x = 20 × 4 × 8

⇒ 40% of 640 = 40100×640{40\over100}\times640 = 64 × 4 = 256
