One-quarter of a circular pizza of radius 21 cm was removed from the whole pizza. What is the perimeter (in cm) of the remaining pizza? (Use pi = 22/7 )

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: B

Explanation

The correct answer is option 2 i.e. 141.

Given that, radius of the pizza = 21 cm

Perimeter of circle = 2πr2 \pi r

According to the given question,

If one-quarter of the perimeter is removed, remaining part = (3/4)th of the perimeter + 2r

Perimeter of remaining pizza = (34×2×227×21{3 \over 4} \times 2 \times{22 \over 7} \times 21) + 21 + 21

⇒ 99 + 42 = 141

Hence the perimeter of the remaining pizza (in cm) is 141.
