Muskan buys two kg of pulses for ₹400 and sells it for ₹440. She also uses the weight of 850 gm instead of 1 kg. What is Muskan’s actual profit percentage?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: D

Explanation

The correct answer is option 4 i.e.  2971729\frac{7}{17}  %.

CP per kg = 400/2 = 200

SP per kg = 440/2 = 220

If she gives 850 gm, the actual cost of those 850 gm = 200/1000 = 0.20 per gram

Actual cost for 850 gm = 0.20 × 850 = 170

Profit = 220 - 170 = 50

Actual profit percentage = (50/170) × 100 = 29717%29\frac{7}{17}\%
