Medha covers 81 km at a speed of 27 km/h by bike, 12 km at a speed of 6 km/h by bicycle, and another 270 km at a speed of 45 km/h by car. Find her average speed for the whole journey.

Explanation

The correct answer is Option 1 i.e. 33 km/h

Time by bike = 81 ÷ 27 = 3 h

Time by bicycle = 12 ÷ 6 = 2 h

Time by car = 270 ÷ 45 = 6 h

Total distance = 81 + 12 + 270 = 363 km
Total time = 3 + 2 + 6 = 11 h

Average Speed = 36311\frac{363} {11}  = 33 km/h
