Show answer & explanation
Correct answer: A
Explanation
the correct answer is option 1 i.e. 16%.
Let's assume their income of Manoj is 100y.
Manoj decided to give 25% of his income to his son A.
Money received by son A = 100y of 25% = 25y Eq.(i)
Let's assume that Manoj decided to give Rs. 'z' to his son B.
If he gave 2,208 to B which is 92% of the decided amount.
z of 92% = 2208
⇒ Z × 92/100 = 2208
⇒ z × 1/100 = 24
⇒ Z = 2400
rupees 2,208 is rupees 1,542 less than the amount given to A.
Money received by son A = 2,208 + 1,542
= 3750
From Eq.(i) 25y = 3750
⇒ 100y = 3750 × 4
income of Manoj = 100y = 15000
Percent of his total income Manoj decides to give his son B = 2400/15000 × 100
= 240/15
= 16%
