Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: D

Explanation

The correct answer is Option 4 i.e. 25.

Last year, Geeta's monthly salary = ₹12,000, and

This year, Geeta's monthly salary = ₹14,400

Last year, Seeta's monthly salary = 10,000, and

This year, Seeta's monthly salary = ₹12,500

Now,

Percentage increase = (New salary - Old salary)/Old salary × 100

Geeta's percentage increase = (14400 - 12000)/12000 × 100

⇒ 2400/12000 × 100 = 20%

Now,

Seeta's percentage increase = (12500 - 10000)/10000 × 100

⇒ 2500/10000 × 100 = 25%

So,

Required value = (25 - 20)/20 × 100

⇒ 5/20 × 100 = 25%
