In which of the following parts of India are thorn forests and scrub forests found?
Show answer & explanation
Correct answer: C
Explanation
The correct answer is option 3 i.e. North-western India.
Thorn forests and scrub forests are primarily found in north-western India, particularly in states like Rajasthan, Gujarat, and parts of Haryana and Punjab. These regions experience arid and semi-arid climates with low rainfall, making them suitable for the growth of thorny and drought-resistant vegetation. The plants in these forests, such as acacia and cactus, are adapted to survive in harsh conditions. These types of forests are not typically found in the more humid or tropical areas of India.
