SSC CGL 2022 PYQ — Question 70

SSC CGL - 05 Dec 2022 - Shift 1 • Quantitative Aptitude • Q70

In triangle ABC, the bisector of angle BAC cuts the side BC at D. If AB = 10 cm, and AC = 14 cm then what is BD : BC ?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: C

Explanation

= 14 cm then what is BD : BC ?

BD : BC = 5 : 12

By the angle bisector theorem: BD/DC = AB/AC = 10/14 = 5/7

So BD : DC = 5 : 7, which means BD : BC = 5 : (5+7) = 5 : 12
