SSC CGL - 21 July 2023 - Shift 1 • Quantitative Aptitude • Q59

In the given figure, a circle is inscribed in ΔPQR, such that it touches the sides PQ, QR, and RP at points D, E, and F, respectively. If the lengths of the sides are PQ-18 cm, QR-13 cm, and RP-15 cm, then find the length of PD.

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: A

Explanation

The correct answer is option 1 i.e. 10 cm.

Given that

The sides of triangle PQ = 18 cm

QR = 13 cm

RP = 15 cm

Formula used

⇒ PD = (QR + RP - PQ)

Calculation

⇒ PD = (13 + 15 - 18)

⇒ PD = 10 cm
