In the following question, a sentence has been given in Direct/Indirect speech. Out of the four alternatives suggested, select the one which best express the same sentence in Indirect/Direct speech.

I said to you, "He should not be trusted."

Explanation

The correct answer is option 4 i.e. I told you that he should not be trusted.

  1. As the reported speech is in "assertive sentence" we need to make changes according to this.
  2. The reported verb will be changed into "told".
  3. The inverted comma will be changed into "that". 
  4. There will be no change in the tense of the reported speech.
