SSC CGL Tier II - Quant - 15 Nov 2020 • Quantitative Aptitude • Q60

In △PQR, ∠Q = 90º. If cot R = 13\frac{1}{3}, then what is the value of secP(cosR+sinP) / cosecR(sinR−cosecP)?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: C

Explanation

The correct answer is option 3 i.e. -27\frac{2}{7}

Concept

secθ = H/B

cosecθ = H/P

cosθ = B/H

sinθ = P/H

cotθ = B/P

Application

cotR = 1/3

P = 3, B = 1, H = √10

Calculating the different values. we get

secP = √10/3

 cosR = 1/√10

sinP = 1/√10

cosecR = √ 10/3

sinR = 3/√10

cosecP = √10/1

Putting the values in  secP(cosR+sinP) / cosecR(sinR−cosecP), we get

(2/√10) / (-7/√10) = (- 2 / 7)
