In ∆PQR, PR = 10 cm. Find the length of PT, where ST∥QR. Given that PS = 6 cm and QS = 14 cm.

ΔQPR ~ ΔSPT (AA similarity criterion)

⇒ QPSP\frac{QP}{SP} = PRPT\frac{PR}{PT} 

⇒ 206\frac{20}{6} = 10PT\frac{10}{PT}

⇒ PT = 3

Hence, the length of PT is 3 cm.
