Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: D

Explanation

The correct answer is Option 4 i.e. 64,960.

Let the income of Kirti be x

Kriti paid an EMI of 22% of her monthly salary. She spent the remaining salary on groceries and clothes in a ratio 7 : 5. She spent Rs. 18,200 on clothes shopping

⇒ x × (100 - 22)/100 × 5/12 = 18200

⇒ x × 78/100 × 5/12 = 18200

⇒ x = (18200 × 12 × 100)/(78 × 5)

⇒ x = Rs.56000

In February 2022, her salary increased by 16%

⇒ 56000 × (100 + 16)/100

⇒ 56000 × 116/100

⇒ 560 × 116 = Rs. 64960

Hence, the salary of Kirti in February is Rs.64960
