In an examination 73% of the candidates passed in quantitative aptitude test, 70% passed in General awareness and 64% passed in both. If 6300 failed in both subjects the total number of examinees were?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: C

Explanation

The correct answer is Option 3 i.e. 30000.

Total passed % = 73% + 70% - 64% = 79%

Failed % =(100-79)% = 21%

⇒ 21% = 6300

⇒ 1% = 6300/21

⇒ 100% = (6300/21) × 100 = 30000

Hence there were 30000 examinees
