Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: C

Explanation

The correct answer is option 3 i.e. 500.

Valid votes = 2500 − 10% of 2500 = 2500 - 250 = 2250

Let Sumit's votes = x

Then Akshit's votes = x/2

Rajni = Average of Akshit and Sumit = x+x22=3x4\frac{x + \frac{x}{2}}{2} = \frac{3x}{4}

x+x2+3x4=2250⇒9x4=2250⇒x=2250×49=1000x + \frac{x}{2} + \frac{3x}{4} = 2250 \Rightarrow \frac{9x}{4} = 2250 \Rightarrow x = \frac{2250 \times 4}{9} = 1000

Akshit vote = 1000/2 = 500
