In △ABC, D is a point on side BC such that ∠ADC = 2∠BAD. If ∠A = 80º and ∠C = 38º, then what is the measure of ∠ADB ?

Explanation

The correct answer is option 4 i.e. 56º

We know that the sum of all the angles of a triangle is equal to 180°

∠A +  ∠B +  ∠C = 180

∠B = 180 - 38 - 80 = 62.

∠ADC =  ∠BAD +  ∠ABD

2θ\theta = θ\theta + 62

θ\theta = 62.

In  △ABD,

∠BAD +  ∠ABD + ∠ADB = 180

∠ADB = 180 - 62 - 62 = 56°.
