SSC CHSL - 16 April 2021 - Shift 2 • Quantitative Aptitude • Q72

In Δ\Delta ABC, ∠\angleB 90°. AD and CE are the medians drawn from A and C, respectively. If AC 10 cm and AD √55cm, then the length of CE is:

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: A

Explanation

The correct answer is option 1 i.e. 70cm\sqrt{70}cm

Given that

As we know the right angled made by median theorem

 AD2 + CE2 = (5/4) AC2

55 + CE2 = (5/4) * 100

CE2  = 125 - 55 = 70

CE = 70cm\sqrt{70}cm
