Let, the temperature on Sunday be a, Monday be b, Tuesday be c and Wednesday be d-

Average temperature of Sunday and Monday = 37.2^o C

$\left ( \frac{a+b}{2} \right )=37.2$

a + b = 74.4

Average temperature of Tuesday and Wednesday = 39.4^o C

$\left ( \frac{c+d}{2} \right )=39.4$^o C

c + d = 78.8 

Average temperature of Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday = 38.1

$\left ( \frac{b+c+d}{3} \right )=38.1$^o C

b + c + d = 114.3

Now,

b + 78.8 = 114.3 

b = 114.3 - 78.8 

b = 35.5 

So,

a + b = 74.4

a + 35.5 = 74.4

a = 74.4 - 35.5
