Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: C

Explanation

The Correct answer is option 3 i.e. 288.

Given that

In an election, a winning candidate got 28% of the total votes polled

The rest of the votes were equally divided among the candidates of three national parties

If the total votes polled were 1200

According to the question

A winning candidate votes = 1200 × 28/100 = 336

The remaining votes = 1200 - 336 = 864

Now, these 864 votes are divided into equal 3 candidates

Hence, the vote of each candidate = 864/3 = 288
