Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: B

Explanation

The correct answer is Option 2 i.e 150.

Understanding/Application

Total number of employees in the company = 600

The average age of all employees = 41 years 9 months = 41(3/4) years

The average age of males = 42 years

The average age of females = 41 years

Using mixture and alligation -

41(3/4) - 41 = 3/4   :     42 - 41(3/4) = 1/4

                            3    :    1

The ratio of male employees to female employees = 3: 1

Number of female employees = (1 × 600)/1 + 3

= 600/4 = 150
