SSC CHSL 2023 PYQ — Question 61

SSC CHSL - 10 Aug 2023 - Shift 2 • Quantitative Aptitude • Q61

In a circle, an arc subtends an angle of 84° at the center. If the length of the arc is 22 cm, then the radius of the circle (in cm) is equal to:

Take π=227\pi=\frac{22}{7}

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: B

Explanation

The correct answer is option 2 i.e. 15.

The length of an arc (L) = (θ/360) × 2πr

So, 22 = (84/360) × 2 × (22/7) × r

⇒ 1 = (84/360) × 2 × (1/7) × r

⇒ 1 = r/15

⇒ r = 15

Therefore, the radius of the circle is 15 cm.
