If x2 + y2 + 6x + 5 = 4(x - y) then x - y is:

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: A

Explanation

The correct answer is Option 1 i.e. 1

x2 + y2 + 6x + 5 = 4(x - y)

⇒ x2 + 2x + 1 + y2 + 4y + 4 = 0

⇒ (x + 1)2 + (y + 2)2 = 0

⇒ x = -1 and y = -2

Hence,

x - y = -1 - (-2) = 1
