If x2−52x+1=0x^2-5\sqrt{2}x+1=0, then what is the value of x3+1xx2+1\frac{x^3+\frac{1}{x}}{x^2+1}?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: A

Explanation

The correct answer is option 1 i.e. 2425\frac{24\sqrt{2}}{5}

⇒ x2−52x+1=0x^2-5\sqrt{2}x+1=0

On dividing LHS and RHS by x we get,

⇒ x + 1/x = 52\sqrt2.

On squaring both sides we get,

x2 + 1/x2 = 50 - 2 = 48.

⇒ x3+1xx2+1\frac{x^3+\frac{1}{x}}{x^2+1}

On dividing by x we get,

 ⇒ x2+1x2x+1x\frac{x^2+\frac{1}{x^2}}{x+\frac{1}{x}} = 48/ 52\sqrt2

On rationalization we get,

=   2425\frac{24\sqrt{2}}{5}.
