If x : y = 5 : 2, then what is (8x - 9y) : (14x - 13y)?

Explanation

The correct answer is option 3 i.e. 1 : 2

We have given,  x : y = 5 : 2

So, the value of (8x - 9y) : (14x - 13y) = (8 × 5 - 9 × 2) : (14 × 5 - 13 × 2)

= 22 : 44 = 1 : 2
