SSC CGL - 03 Dec 2022 - Shift 1 • Quantitative Aptitude • Q60

If the volume of a sphere is 24,416.64 cm3,  find its surface area (take π=3.14) correct to two places of decimal.

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: B

Explanation

The correct answer is Option 2 i.e. 4069.44 cm3.

Formula used:

Volume of sphere = (4/3) × π × r3         ---- (1)

Surface area of sphere = 4 × π × r2           ---- (2)

Calculations:

Using equation (1),

⇒ 24,416.64 = 4/3 × 3.14 × r3

⇒ r3 = 5832

⇒ r = 18 cm

Using equation (2),

Total surface area of sphere = 4 × 3.14 × 18 × 18 = 4069.44 cm3
