Concept used:

Third proportional of a and b = b²/a

Mean proportional of a and b = √ab 

Calculations:

Now, 

The third proportion of 8 and 24 = A = (24)²/8

= (24 × 24)/8 = 24 × 3 = 72

The mean proportional of 4 and 16 = B = √(16 × 4)

= √64 = 8

The value of $\frac{A}{B}$ = $\frac{72}{8}$ = 9
