SSC CGL - 26 Jul 2023 - Shift 1 • Quantitative Aptitude • Q64

If the slant height of a cone is 60 cm and the radius of its base is 21 cm, then find its curved surface area.

(use π=227)\left(\text{use} \ \pi = \frac{22}{7}\right)

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: C

Explanation

The correct answer is option 3 i.e. 3960 cm2.

Given that, radius = 21 cm

Slant height = 60 cm

So, CSA of cone = πrl\pi r l

where r is radius and l is slant height of the cone.

⇒ 227×21×60{22\over 7} \times 21 \times 60

⇒ 66 × 60 = 3960 cm2

Hence the curved surface area of cone is 3960 cm2.
