Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: A

Explanation

The correct answer is Option 1 i.e. 29\frac{2}{9}.

Let the original fraction be x/y

⇒ x×160100y×140100{x\times{160\over100}}\over{y\times{140\over100}} = 1663\frac{16}{63}

⇒ x×85y×75{x\times{8\over5}}\over{y\times{7\over5}} = 1663\frac{16}{63}

⇒ 8x57y5{{8x\over5}}\over{{7y\over5}} = 1663\frac{16}{63}

⇒ 8x5×63=16×7y5{{8x\over5}}\times 63 = {16 \times {7y\over5}}

⇒  x×9=2×y{{x}}\times 9 = {2 \times {y}}

⇒ xy=29{x\over y} = {2\over9}

Hence, The original fraction is 29\frac{2}{9}.
